The audience was convinced that Cassius Byrne's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jan Motyl was relentless in the 6th minute of the game. The supporters of USA booed when Black Hołdunów was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edward Chazen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cassius Byrne fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jan Motyl having to interfere. 14 minutes into the match, Black Hołdunów's goal looked a bit too open when Monty Rogers came free, but Jan Motyl reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marco Day made an important save on a dangerous shot by Olgierd Wojtowicz in the 15th minute. After some careless play in the Black Hołdunów defense, Cassius Byrne kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jan Motyl. The Black Hołdunów fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jan Motyl should have stopped the shot. USA's Marco Day played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Olgierd Wojtowicz in the 23rd minute of play. Jan Motyl made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Monty Rogers in the 32nd minute of play. Jan Motyl came out of the goal in the 32nd minute to try and stop a shot by USA's Monty Rogers. But to his dismay, Monty Rogers quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Jan Motyl took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Monty Rogers, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 39 minutes into the match, Black Hołdunów's goal looked a bit too open when Monty Rogers came free, but Jan Motyl reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 42 minutes into the game, Joseph Wautiers was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Black Hołdunów's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave USA the free kick. Black Hołdunów's John Dahlqvist got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 47th minute, Monty Rogers left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The USA fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4.

Jan Motyl made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Monty Rogers in the 52nd minute of play. With an all-out effort, USA's Jan Motyl threw himself towards the right post 61 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Monty Rogers, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Monty Rogers could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but Jan Motyl made a huge save. Jan Motyl made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Monty Rogers in the 68th minute of play. USA's Sam Campbell was substituted for Cassius Byrne. Jan Motyl made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sam Campbell in the 75th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Edward Chazen managed to get in a good position for a shot. Black Hołdunów's supporters rose to their feet, but Edward Chazen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marco Day breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. USA made a substitution. Khalid Parry replaced Monty Rogers. Black Hołdunów made a substitution. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sam Campbell got free with Jan Motyl in the 83rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sam Campbell in the 85th minute of play forced Black Hołdunów's goalkeeper Jan Motyl to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 95 minutes into the game, USA's Sam Campbell nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jan Motyl made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-5. When the final whistle sounded USA left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Black Hołdunów.
