When the match had gone on for 14 minutes, Panait Oprea took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Jonathan Ferrant to make any attempt to save it. In the 21st minute Zikoranachidimma Bischhoffshausen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Panait Oprea tried to sneak it across the goal line. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. 30 minutes into the game, Dragoş Zăvoiu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Jonathan Ferrant was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Venezuela's defense didn't have a chance, in the 33rd minute, when Eugen Albeanu scored to the left of an out of position Jonathan Ferrant, making the score, 3-0. In the 37th minute of the match Venezuela got a corner. ionion's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Tomas Illescas ran over to the corner to take the kick. It was a well-played corner which Salvador Gisbert managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tomas Illescas to make the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Panait Oprea in the 53rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonathan Ferrant prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Panait Oprea struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for ionion. Thanks to some nice moves Tomas Illescas could shoot a difficult shot in the 56th minute, which Fabio Abalos however easily saved by the left post. Patricio Costa was extremely unlucky when he, in the 59th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. In the 59th minute of the match, Patricio Costa tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Fabio Abalos saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After 60 minutes ionion's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Tomas Illescas who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Tomas Illescas got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Fabio Abalos quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 66 minutes into the match, ionion's Zikoranachidimma Bischhoffshausen sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jonathan Ferrant narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Panait Oprea, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. Niculae Moisescu charged in rather forcefully in the 72nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Niculae Moisescu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Venezuela made a substitution. Roberto Ocampo replaced Patricio Costa. After 73 played minutes ionion got a freekick which was hit by Niculae Moisescu. Fabio Abalos made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tomas Illescas in the 74th minute. 76 minutes into the match, ionion's goalkeeper Fabio Abalos had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tomas Illescas. If Panait Oprea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Fabio Abalos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Illescas in the 81st minute of the match. After 86 minutes, Panait Oprea made it 4-0 with a short kick to the right side. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roberto Ocampo in the 90th minute of play forced ionion's goalkeeper Fabio Abalos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 90th minute of the match, Roberto Ocampo tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Fabio Abalos saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 90th play minute Roberto Ocampo came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Fabio Abalos. 4-1. Tomas Illescass short, quick shot in the 93rdth minute got Fabio Abalos to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. When the referee ended the match the ionion players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
