The coaching staff of Club Puerto Quito protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Joakim Norberg had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in Club Puerto Quito fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 18th minute. Penalty! 1-1 came in the 21st minute when Alin Dragalina all by himself managed to get straight through the defense and place the ball into the net to the right of Urbes Cenzano. Hermes Soveral's late challenge caught a Club Puerto Quito's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. In the 94th match minute, Sporting Royal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hermes Soveral to maneuver through the defense. Rodolfo Bonilla kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. Club Puerto Quito were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Sporting Royal to leave the ground with a draw.
