The audience thought a goal was coming when Flávio Mineiro got free with Sílvio Penha in the 3rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Engenheiros da Vila booed when Zemantauskas FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Serginho Simões didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gernando Sarmento took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 7th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Sílvio Penha. Zemantauskas FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 10th minute, Zemantauskas FC's Valdir Ortiz seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Valdir Ortiz the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Zemantauskas FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Valdir Ortiz had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 10 played minutes Zemantauskas FC got a freekick which was hit by Valdir Ortiz. Zemantauskas FC's Renato Nascimento quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Christiano Ronaldo, made in the 14th minute of the game. A collision led to Zemantauskas FC getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Davi Mello hit a great ball. A nice corner shot did that Gernando Sarmento got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Sílvio Penha quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 28 minutes into the match, Zemantauskas FC's goalkeeper Sílvio Penha had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sérgio Jacinto. Remo Varela sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sílvio Penha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sérgio Jacinto in the 37th minute of the match. Sérgio Jacinto received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Sílvio Penha came out and tried to block the shot, but Sérgio Jacinto slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 39th minute. Zemantauskas FC's Sílvio Penha proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save Zemantauskas FC from getting a goal against them. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Remo Varela stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the game, Geraldo Fernandez cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Sílvio Penha was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 68th match minute, Zemantauskas FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Miguel Negri to maneuver through the defense. 72 minutes into the match, Zemantauskas FC's goal looked a bit too open when Sérgio Jacinto came free, but Sílvio Penha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 89th minute, Sérgio Jacinto left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Engenheiros da Vila fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. Sílvio Penha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Geraldo Fernandez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Engenheiros da Vila had played much better football throughout.
