The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Anestis Kotsopoulos took the ball and in the 3 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Carlos Germano. Carlos Germano dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After 7 minutes of play, Rot-Weiss-Essen's Anestis Kotsopoulos made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Carlos Germano was left in no man's land by his defense there! 9 minutes into the match, Club Atlético Atlanta's goal looked a bit too open when Maximilian Henning came free, but Carlos Germano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 11 minutes of play, Rot-Weiss-Essen's Anestis Kotsopoulos made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Carlos Germano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hugo Haupt in the 14th minute of the match. Maximilian Henning received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Carlos Germano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 17 minutes, Mesut Özil managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rot-Weiss-Essen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mesut Özil was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A nice corner shot did that Marcos Berdoi got away a dangerous shot. Despite this August Hoffmanns quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anestis Kotsopoulos in the 20th minute of play forced Club Atlético Atlanta's goalkeeper Carlos Germano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Club Atlético Atlanta's Hermengildo Erroman got a free kick in the 23rd minute. After 24 played minutes Club Atlético Atlanta got a freekick which was hit by Fabio Artaldo. In the 37th minute Mesut Özil shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Germano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Club Atlético Atlanta's Carlos Germano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anestis Kotsopoulos in the 38th minute of play. Mesut Özil didn't get a good kick on the ball. Anestis Kotsopoulos received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Carlos Germano came out and tried to block the shot, but Anestis Kotsopoulos slotted it home off the left post making it 1-6 in the 93rd minute. When the final whistle sounded Rot-Weiss-Essen left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Club Atlético Atlanta.
