With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lino Rios in the 3rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg August Hoffmanns saved Rot-Weiss-Essen from getting behind. 9 minutes into the game, Cristobal Bermudez was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. AFC FUSION's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Rot-Weiss-Essen the free kick. A collision led to AFC FUSION getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Cristobal Bermudez hit a great ball. Lino Rios fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without August Hoffmanns having to interfere. With an all-out effort, Rot-Weiss-Essen's Gerardo Beila threw himself towards the right post 13 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Anestis Kotsopoulos, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The crowd rose to their feet as Anestis Kotsopoulos kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Gerardo Beila. That made the score 1-0 in the 18 minute of play. Gerardo Beila made a fantastic save in the 21st minute, when Mesut Özil sent off a good shot on target. Rot-Weiss-Essen's Maximilian Henning was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Gerardo Beila in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Gerardo Beila made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anestis Kotsopoulos in the 25th minute of play. Ramon Bautista sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gerardo Beila took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maximilian Henning, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 29 played minutes AFC FUSION got a freekick which was hit by Romulo Abilio. Gerardo Beila showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maximilian Henning, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. AFC FUSION's Gerardo Beila played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mesut Özil in the 35th minute of play. The supporters of Rot-Weiss-Essen booed when AFC FUSION was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Romulo Abilio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gerardo Beila made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anestis Kotsopoulos in the 37th minute of play. The supporters of AFC FUSION booed when Rot-Weiss-Essen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hugo Haupt didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 43rd match minute, Rot-Weiss-Essen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hugo Haupt to maneuver through the defense. In the 45th minute Lino Rios shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but August Hoffmanns saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 45th minute, Lino Rios ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. August Hoffmanns was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Gerardo Beila showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maximilian Henning, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. August Hoffmanns showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lino Rios in the 53rd minute of the match. With a little luck, Rot-Weiss-Essen's August Hoffmanns got control of the ball when Lino Rios tried to sneak it across the goal line. With a left leg Gerardo Beila saved AFC FUSION from getting behind. 60 minutes into the match, Lino Rios notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Rot-Weiss-Essen's August Hoffmanns. August Hoffmanns was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The audience was convinced that Hugo Haupt's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gerardo Beila was relentless in the 65th minute of the game. In the 67th minute, Agustin Furtado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 75th minute Lino Rios shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but August Hoffmanns saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. AFC FUSION's Gerardo Beila played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mesut Özil in the 80th minute of play. After 81 minutes of play, AFC FUSION's Lino Rios made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. August Hoffmanns was left in no man's land by his defense there! With a little luck, Rot-Weiss-Essen's August Hoffmanns got control of the ball when Lino Rios tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Lino Rios had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lino Rios in the 91st minute of play forced Rot-Weiss-Essen's goalkeeper August Hoffmanns to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched AFC FUSION eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
