In the 14th minute, Joachim Svensson made a precise shot to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. 17 minutes into the match, Peñaloza's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Illescas came free, but Alexandre Cunha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Alex Chicote fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Venezuela's protests and gave Alex Chicote a yellow card for diving instead. Jonathan Ferrant had in the 20thth minute some difficulties stopping Eduardo Castro's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Jonathan Ferrant didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Eduardo Castro went, in the 20th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Aquiles Xabat in the 25th minute. 31 minutes into the game, Victorino Bonifaco lined in a short shot 4-0 behind a frustrated Jonathan Ferrant. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alexandre Cunha having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Victorino Bonifaco in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonathan Ferrant prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 39 minutes had been played when some careless play by Venezuela's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Eduardo Castro was slow to take the kick. During this time Peñaloza's players had a chance to rest. Eduardo Castro made a great header on Peñaloza's corner, it was just that Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant managed to reach the ball for a save. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Jonathan Venegas hit a great ball. Victorino Bonifaco hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Anibal Gaitan during the 46th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Peñaloza's Anibal Gaitan got a free kick in the 47th minute.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tomas Illescas made a kick off. When Federico Estavan came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the Peñaloza fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Federico Estavan couldn't finish the play. Simon Oihan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aquiles Xabat in the 57th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Peñaloza booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guillermo Mariano didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aquiles Xabat in the 59th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 62nd minute Simon Oihan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Camilo Gaos hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Victorino Bonifaco in the 72nd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Victorino Bonifaco managed to get in a good position for a shot. Peñaloza's supporters rose to their feet, but Victorino Bonifaco was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Ferrant breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aquiles Xabat, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Victorino Bonifaco's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jonathan Ferrant read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 79th minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Aquiles Xabat went, in the 81st minute, to the upper right corner, 5-0 was the resulting score. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aquiles Xabat in the 87th minute of play. In the 91st minute of the game Anibal Gaitan made a throw-in which Eduardo Castro played forward. Peñaloza's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
