Henrique Neves dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Vinícius Melo's late challenge caught a Icaicara's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vinícius Melo helped the player get up and apologised. Henrique Neves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reynaldo Brasil, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. After 32 played minutes Altonia got a freekick which was hit by Vinícius Melo. When Altonia's Severino da Fonseca in the 47th minute got a chance for a shot 47th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Icaicara's goalie prevented a goal. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Geovânio de Barros to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute Icaicara were awarded a corner. Antônio Custódio went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 54thth minute of the game Chicão Paraibano who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Altonia's Elias Munhoz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Elias Munhoz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chicão Paraibano in the 60th minute of the match. Chicão Paraibano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Elias Munhoz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 63 minutes into the game, one of Icaicara:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. With a little luck, Icaicara's Henrique Neves got control of the ball when Severino da Fonseca tried to sneak it across the goal line. Reynaldo Brasil received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Henrique Neves came out and tried to block the shot, but Reynaldo Brasil slotted it home off the left post making it 0-4 in the 74th minute. 77 minutes into the match, Altonia's goal looked a bit too open when Geovânio de Barros came free, but Elias Munhoz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 80 minutes, Geovânio de Barros made it 1-4 with a short kick to the right side. Altonia's Elias Munhoz tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Chicão Paraibano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elias Munhoz having to interfere. Geovânio de Barros recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 93 minutes, Severino da Fonseca managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Altonia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Severino da Fonseca was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
