The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience thought a goal was coming when Iliya Stanoychev got free with Henrique Neves in the 4th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Geovânio de Barros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Martin Dzhalev tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Svetlin Ignatiev was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 17 minutes into the match. 21 minutes into the match, Geovânio de Barros had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Martin Dzhalev. Sultanzi's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Geovânio de Barros was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Martin Dzhalev showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Geovânio de Barros in the 29th minute of the match. 35 minutes into the match, Sultanzi's goal looked a bit too open when Chicão Paraibano came free, but Martin Dzhalev reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 37th minute, Paulo Renato Lopez left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Icaicara fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. The supporters of Sultanzi booed when Icaicara was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antônio Custódio didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Iliya Stanoychev had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Sultanzi's Radostin Stanchov slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Henrique Neves. That made the score 2-3 after 44 minutes of play. Iliya Stanoychev sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Disappointed in the 2-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

After a rather tough play, Sultanzi's Radostin Stanchov got a free kick in the 51st minute. Martin Dzhalev came out of the goal in the 52nd minute to try and stop a shot by Icaicara's Geovânio de Barros. But to his dismay, Geovânio de Barros quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-4. An unexpectedly hard shot by Iliya Stanoychev in the 56th minute of play forced Icaicara's goalkeeper Henrique Neves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Henrique Neves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Radostin Stanchov, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Velcho Tzanov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henrique Neves having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Paulo Renato Lopez during the 65th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Velcho Tzanov during the 80th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Guilherme Vides took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 81st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Martin Dzhalev. Sultanzi's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Radostin Stanchov hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. Sultanzi's supporters crossed their fingers, but Iliya Stanoychev was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Geovânio de Barros in the 89th minute of play forced Sultanzi's goalkeeper Martin Dzhalev to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Radostin Stanchov kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. Chicão Paraibano could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Martin Dzhalev made a huge save. Sultanzi's Martin Dzhalev proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 93rd minute of the match, managed to save Sultanzi from getting a goal against them. The Sultanzi manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Icaicara to win.
