Kamel Tisserant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Doni França, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Laércio Branco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Kamel Tisserant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 14th match minute, Marly was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Christian Ricaud to maneuver through the defense. Laércio Branco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 25th minute, Tony de Moraes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Marambaia FC defense, Émilien Braud kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rafael Miranda. The Marambaia FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rafael Miranda should have stopped the shot. Dida Rodrigues sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Erik Custódio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Marambaia FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Erik Custódio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kamel Tisserant breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Christian Ricaud fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rafael Miranda having to interfere. After 43 played minutes Marambaia FC got a freekick which was hit by Edmílson Coelho. In the 45th minute, Reynald Reynal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Émilien Braud was the one to do the kick off. Alex Patureau hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. The attack was good, but when Laércio Branco in the 53rd minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Laércio Branco struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Kamel Tisserant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Marambaia FC. 64 minutes into the game, Laércio Branco was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Marambaia FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Marly the free kick. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Dida Rodrigues managed to get in a good position for a shot. Marambaia FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Dida Rodrigues was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post.
