The ball went over the crossbar instead. 9 minutes had been played when some careless play by Altonia's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Slavyan Fasulkov was slow to take the kick. During this time Sultanzi's players had a chance to rest. After a defensive mix-up in Altonia's zone, Iliya Stanoychev stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Elias Munhoz came out of the goal and Iliya Stanoychev tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 16th match minute, Sultanzi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Radostin Stanchov to maneuver through the defense. Severino da Fonseca's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Martin Dzhalev read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 18th minute of play. Iliya Stanoychev's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Elias Munhoz firmly grabbed it by the left post. The nice shot from Iliya Stanoychev in the 19thth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Elias Munhoz had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. Altonia's defense didn't have a chance, in the 48th minute, when Slavyan Fasulkov scored to the left of an out of position Elias Munhoz, making the score, 2-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Slavyan Fasulkov to make the kick off. Sultanzi's supporters rose to their feet, but Slavyan Fasulkov was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post.
