After a rather tough play, Icaicara's Válter Valadares got a free kick in the 10th minute. Meridiano AFC's Hilario Hurko got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 33 minutes, Ricardo Benat managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Meridiano AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ricardo Benat was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Hilario Hurko in the 35thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Henrique Neves, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Ricardo Benat received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Henrique Neves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Geovânio de Barros in the 47th minute of play forced Meridiano AFC's goalkeeper Dionisio Maiorga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Geovânio de Barros made a kick off. When Paulo Renato Lopez fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Icaicara's protests and gave Paulo Renato Lopez a yellow card for diving instead. Henrique Neves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ricardo Benat, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hilario Hurko struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Henrique Neves didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Meridiano AFC. Chicão Paraibano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 67th minute, one of Icaicara:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Icaicara. Icaicara:s Henrique Neves showed great skill when he stopped Miguel Toro:s penalty. In the 70th minute, Hilario Hurko got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Meridiano AFC's Dionisio Maiorga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Geovânio de Barros in the 73rd minute of play. Chicão Paraibano took the ball and in the 74 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dionisio Maiorga. Dionisio Maiorga dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. After 81 played minutes Icaicara got a freekick which was hit by João Vítor Brito. Hilario Hurko recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Dionisio Maiorga made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Chicão Paraibano sent off a good shot on target. In the 88th match minute, Icaicara was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Válter Valadares to maneuver through the defense. In the 90th minute of the match Miguel Toro shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Henrique Neves showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Dionisio Maiorga didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Icaicara's Geovânio de Barros shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 1-2 in the ordered_time% minute. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Icaicara had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
