The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. José Ignacio Rocha stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nildo Chaves's shot from short distance in the 4th minute. 6 minutes into the match, COURO COME FC's goalkeeper Léo Sampaio had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Samuel Abel. José Ignacio Rocha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bogumil Dankowski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Samuel Abel who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 10thth minute tested the skills of Léo Sampaio when he managed to save the team from getting behind. With a little luck, COURO COME FC's Léo Sampaio got control of the ball when Samuel Abel tried to sneak it across the goal line. Léo Sampaio was a little too slow when Samuel Abel got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 15th minute. The score was now 1-1. José Ignacio Rocha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hieronim Rosiewicz in the 28th minute of play. 30 minutes into the match, COURO COME FC's goal looked a bit too open when Vatan Enfal came free, but Léo Sampaio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Léo Sampaio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vatan Enfal in the 33rd minute of play. COURO COME FC's Léo Sampaio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vatan Enfal in the 39th minute of play. In the 39th minute Vatan Enfal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Léo Sampaio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alfonso Sotta received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Léo Sampaio came out and tried to block the shot, but Alfonso Sotta slotted it home off the left post making it 3-1 in the 40th minute. José Ignacio Rocha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anísio Diniz in the 44th minute of play. Samuel Abel might have been able to make a better finish in the 45th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Léo Sampaio. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Samuel Abel ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to COURO COME FC getting a freekick after 48 minutes play. Lauro Guerra hit a great ball. In the 49th minute Mercurio San Martín shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Léo Sampaio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Vatan Enfal made a kick off. In the 52nd minute, Samuel Abel left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Inter de Chillán fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-1. After having played for 59 minutes, Vatan Enfal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Inter de Chillán's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vatan Enfal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. COURO COME FC's Léo Sampaio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Samuel Abel in the 62nd minute of play. Vatan Enfal took the ball and in the 63 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Léo Sampaio. Léo Sampaio dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-1. Léo Sampaio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eladio Araujo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When José Pedro da Fonseca fell near the penalty area in the 77th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored COURO COME FC's protests and gave José Pedro da Fonseca a yellow card for diving instead. After a defensive mix-up in COURO COME FC's zone, Samuel Abel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Léo Sampaio came out of the goal and Samuel Abel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 79th minute, Eladio Araujo made a precise shot to the right of Léo Sampaio. COURO COME FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 7-1. Anísio Diniz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 85 minutes into the game, Eladio Araujo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 8-1. Léo Sampaio was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 87 played minutes COURO COME FC got a freekick which was hit by Iuri Cardozo. Eladio Araujo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Léo Sampaio having to interfere. After some careless play in the COURO COME FC defense, Eladio Araujo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Léo Sampaio. The COURO COME FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Léo Sampaio should have stopped the shot. The supporters of COURO COME FC booed when Inter de Chillán was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Karlos Novoa didn't get a good kick on the ball. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Inter de Chillán had played much better football throughout.
