Walmir Catarinense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elias Honrio, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. 31 minutes into the match, San Lorenzo de Sarandi's goalkeeper Lester Serre had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rene Aires. 31 minutes into the game, Rene Aires cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Lester Serre was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rene Aires to make the kick off. Lorenzo Jerrold received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Walmir Catarinense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Loco De Remate's Walmir Catarinense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lorenzo Jerrold in the 63rd minute of play. In the 70th minute Godfredo Luix shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lester Serre saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 75 minutes into the match, San Lorenzo de Sarandi's goal looked a bit too open when Rene Aires came free, but Lester Serre reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Walmir Catarinense made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lorenzo Jerrold in the 80th minute. Loco De Remate's Feliciano Iratxo was substituted for Baškim Sumulikovski. Lester Serre made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Delmar Chumo in the 90th minute of play. The throw-in from Jerrold Barzana in the 93rd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by San Lorenzo de Sarandi's Baltasar Bartoleme. The audience was convinced that Delmar Chumo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lester Serre was relentless in the 95th minute of the game. Despite being the better team, San Lorenzo de Sarandi failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
