A collision led to Los Delfines getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Dani Cáceres hit a great ball. Matías Patrone made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elias Honrio in the 6th minute of play. Lester Serre stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Oliver Bierhoff's shot from short distance in the 7th minute. Elias Honrio kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. Los Delfines's Oliver Bierhoff managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Vasco Olarticoechea in the 12 minute of the game. Oliver Bierhoff's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lester Serre read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 14th minute of play. Los Delfines's Honorio Eder was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Lester Serre in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 19th match minute, San Lorenzo de Sarandi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Camilo Mouricio to maneuver through the defense. When Los Delfines's Oliver Bierhoff in the 27th minute got a chance for a shot 27th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye San Lorenzo de Sarandi's goalie prevented a goal. Elias Honrios short, quick shot in the 29thth minute got Matías Patrone to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Elias Honrio had several of the Los Delfines's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 29 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Matías Patrone as he didn't even see the shot coming. After a defensive mix-up in San Lorenzo de Sarandi's zone, Hector Abadia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lester Serre came out of the goal and Hector Abadia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 34th minute, Camilo Mouricio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Los Delfines's Oliver Bierhoff got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lester Serre made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oliver Bierhoff in the 41st minute of play. Dani Cáceres hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Oliver Bierhoff made the kick off in the second half. Matías Patrone came out of the goal in the 54th minute to try and stop a shot by San Lorenzo de Sarandi's Ivan Errando. But to his dismay, Ivan Errando quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. The supporters of Los Delfines booed when San Lorenzo de Sarandi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camilo Mouricio didn't get a good kick on the ball. San Lorenzo de Sarandi made a substitution. Venancio Piorno replaced Lorenzo Jerrold. When the match clock showed 59 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Oliver Bierhoff sped through San Lorenzo de Sarandi's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Lester Serre. Lester Serre took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Oliver Bierhoff, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leonides Rosio in the 66th minute of play forced Los Delfines's goalkeeper Matías Patrone to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 78th minute Leonides Rosio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Matías Patrone saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Matías Patrone showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leonides Rosio, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. 90 minutes into the match, San Lorenzo de Sarandi's goalkeeper Lester Serre had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Oliver Bierhoff. Oliver Bierhoff kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. Los Delfines's Daniel Abeitia was substituted for Saverio Regis. Los Delfines made a substitution. Lu Bin Yuan replaced Hector Abadia. In the 92nd minute, Oliver Bierhoff hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 93 minutes into the match, Leonides Rosio had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Matías Patrone. Los Delfines's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Leonides Rosio was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. There was no doubt that San Lorenzo de Sarandi were the better team. San Lorenzo de Sarandi's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
