The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Marcos Berdoi in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Matias Carlomagno prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Şevket Çağa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Matias Carlomagno having to interfere. 38 minutes into the match, San Lorenzo's goal looked a bit too open when Şevket Çağa came free, but Matias Carlomagno reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Şevket Çağa to strike the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the San Lorenzo defense, Şevket Çağa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Matias Carlomagno. The San Lorenzo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Matias Carlomagno should have stopped the shot. Matias Carlomagno took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paolo Caradaro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 61 played minutes Club Atlético Atlanta got a freekick which was hit by Hermengildo Erroman. Pankracy Glogowski didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Kara Melo went, in the 65th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Şevket Çağa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. San Lorenzo were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Club Atlético Atlanta's much stronger midfield.
