After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Juan Sebastián Puig got a free kick in the 12th minute. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luis Ipar's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. When the match had gone on for 16 minutes, Luis Ipar put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Julio Vera. Florian Schmidt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. 22 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Abelardo Roderigo. In the 24th minute, Cristian Sancho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 28th minute, Luis Ipar reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Julio Vera. The goal made the score 2-0. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 31th minute after Nenger de Penger FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. Daniel Zorita made a great header on Ecuador's corner, it was just that Nenger de Penger FC's Laurens Roelfs managed to reach the ball for a save. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Abelardo Roderigo in the 39th minute. 40 minutes into the game, Daniel Zorita was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Luis Ipar was the one to do the kick off. After 51 played minutes Nenger de Penger FC got a freekick which was hit by Luis Ipar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Daniel Zorita in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Laurens Roelfs saved Nenger de Penger FC from getting behind. 53 minutes had been played when some careless play by Nenger de Penger FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. When Cristian Sancho came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Sancho couldn't finish the play. When the match had gone on for 58 minutes, Cristian Sancho took a quick shot and it went in 2-1 without a chance for Laurens Roelfs to make any attempt to save it. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abelardo Roderigo in the 63rd minute of play. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dimitrie Fikkers in the 65th minute of the match. Laurens Roelfs made a fantastic save in the 67th minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target. Luis Ipar took the ball and in the 68 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julio Vera. Julio Vera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. In the 74th minute, Luis Ipar had to leave the field with a concussion. Nenger de Penger FC's Bertus Appel was substituted for Luis Ipar. The supporters of Nenger de Penger FC booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Agustín Saelices didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Sancho got free with Laurens Roelfs in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Nenger de Penger FC's Ni Jun Tian was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Julio Vera in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. When Nenger de Penger FC's Bertus Appel in the 92nd minute got a chance for a shot 92nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ecuador's goalie prevented a goal. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abelardo Roderigo in the 96th minute of play. Many of Ecuador's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Ecuador may have spent more time on the ball, but Nenger de Penger FC were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
