GUAYACO's Vela Garros was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 12th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Severo Navarro didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ronny Caicedo went, in the 16th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. Severo Navarro made a fantastic save in the 21st minute, when Vela Garros sent off a good shot on target. Terapia Intensiva's Severo Navarro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save Terapia Intensiva from getting a goal against them. Vela Garros could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Severo Navarro made a huge save. Isidoro Gauargi charged in rather forcefully in the 34th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Isidoro Gauargi the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Terapia Intensiva getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Isidoro Gauargi hit a great ball. Gomez Argüelles might have been able to make a better finish in the 35th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Severo Navarro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gomez Argüelles ran back to his position shaking his head. When Fernández Corral fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored C.A. GUAYACO's protests and gave Fernández Corral a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Terapia Intensiva booed when C.A. GUAYACO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fernández Corral didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Clemente Fonda stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. C.A. GUAYACO's Ronny Caicedo got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 57th minute, Ronny Caicedo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Severo Navarro was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-0. In the 63rd minute Ronny Caicedo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Severo Navarro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Clemente Fonda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Hugo Mejia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Terapia Intensiva's zone, Ronny Caicedo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Severo Navarro came out of the goal and Ronny Caicedo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 75 minutes into the match, Terapia Intensiva's goal looked a bit too open when Ronny Caicedo came free, but Severo Navarro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Vela Garros fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored C.A. GUAYACO's protests and gave Vela Garros a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to C.A. GUAYACO getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Vela Garros hit a great ball. C.A. GUAYACO:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for C.A. GUAYACO. The goalkeeper, Hugo Mejia, was totally fooled by Terapia Intensiva's Isidoro Gauargi, who 92 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. C.A. GUAYACO's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
