The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, Colombia's Pascual Carballar got a free kick in the 2nd minute. The corner led CEARÁ ESPORTE CLUBE - DMZ's Afonso Marques to fire away a dangerous shot which Pedro Manzanares despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Samuca Campidelis took the ball and in the 11 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Pedro Manzanares. Pedro Manzanares dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Abram Sarmiento recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 19 minutes into the match, Colombia's goal looked a bit too open when Samuca Campidelis came free, but Pedro Manzanares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Axel Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Julian Drebit took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Axel Montenegro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Julian Drebit made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Axel Montenegro in the 26th minute of play. After 31 minutes CEARÁ ESPORTE CLUBE - DMZ's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Axel Montenegro who took care of the corner kick. Axel Montenegro made a great header on Colombia's corner, it was just that CEARÁ ESPORTE CLUBE - DMZ's Julian Drebit managed to reach the ball for a save. Pedro Manzanares made an important save on a dangerous shot by Samuca Campidelis in the 33rd minute. 38 minutes into the game, Axel Montenegro cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Julian Drebit was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 44 played minutes CEARÁ ESPORTE CLUBE - DMZ got a freekick which was hit by Lauro da Rocha. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Abram Sarmiento to strike the kick off in the second half. Colombia's Antonio Indiano managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Lauro da Rocha in the 51 minute of the game. Pascual Carballar hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. After 57 played minutes Colombia got a freekick which was hit by Ignacio Mastache. Pedro Manzanares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Samuca Campidelis, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Axel Montenegro in the 64th minute of play forced CEARÁ ESPORTE CLUBE - DMZ's goalkeeper Julian Drebit to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 66 minutes of play CEARÁ ESPORTE CLUBE - DMZ's Ye Yi Yi was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Ye Yi Yi kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Colombia's Abram Secada was substituted for Axel Montenegro. If Abram Sarmiento had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
