The referee showed Ivan Navarro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 82 played minutes Honduras got a freekick which was hit by Ivan Navarro. The audience was convinced that Marijan Kempes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lautaro Navarro was relentless in the 84th minute of the game. 85 minutes into the match, Marijan Kempes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lautaro Navarro. Honduras's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marijan Kempes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-1. After a rather tough play, Honduras's Ivan Navarro got a free kick in the 90th minute. 94 minutes into the game, one of Honduras:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave As de Copas a penalty, 95 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Timoteo Vito, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Honduras's Lautaro Navarro. 5-1. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The As de Copas fans cheered their team off the field, for while Honduras had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
