The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Capdevilla's Pastor Valery played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leandro Soares in the 53rd minute of play. In the 56th minute of the match Fc Benefica got a corner. Capdevilla's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Leandro Soares ran over to the corner to take the kick. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pastor Valery prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Miguel Diagur received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Taco Uebels tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 80th minute, David Wilmink hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Leandro Soares took the ball and in the 85 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Pastor Valery. Pastor Valery dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Pastor Valery showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leandro Soares, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. Leandro Soares scored 3-0 in the 91st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Pastor Valery, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience was convinced that Leandro Soares's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pastor Valery was relentless in the 94th minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Capdevilla's Rodrigo Evis got a free kick in the 95th minute. In the 99th minute of the match Fc Benefica got a corner. Capdevilla's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Leandro Soares ran over to the corner to take the kick. Fc Benefica were awarded a corner in the 100th minute after Capdevilla's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Leandro Soares took the corner. The corner led Fc Benefica's Leandro Soares to fire away a dangerous shot which Pastor Valery despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Capdevilla's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
