Nicasio Quinto started the match with the kick off. In the 3rd minute, Damian Maftei ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cesario Roma was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Cesario Roma showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Damian Maftei in the 6th minute of the match. In the 9th match minute, BFC 1982 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ermegildo Ekialde to maneuver through the defense. Martinez Cines fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cesario Roma having to interfere. Cesario Roma showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Willy Reynolds, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Thanks to some nice moves Nicasio Quinto could shoot a difficult shot in the 21st minute, which Aguinaga Nebot however easily saved by the left post. In the 24th minute Damian Maftei shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cesario Roma saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Esmeraldas S.C.'s attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Stefanos Terzopoulos in the 25th minute. In the 33rdth minute of the game Martinez Cines who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but BFC 1982's Cesario Roma was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 37 minutes into the match, BFC 1982's goal looked a bit too open when Damian Maftei came free, but Cesario Roma reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Oskar Petersson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Willy Reynolds fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cesario Roma having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Esmeraldas S.C.'s zone, Nicasio Quinto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aguinaga Nebot came out of the goal and Nicasio Quinto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After the first half Esmeraldas S.C. were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Damian Maftei made a kick off. 55 minutes into the game, Pinto Cubria threw the ball into play from the sideline. BFC 1982's Juan Jayvier quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Esmeraldas S.C.'s Aguinaga Nebot played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edgardo Txaran in the 58th minute of play. Edgardo Txaran scored 1-2 in the 58th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Aguinaga Nebot, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 61st minute Stefanos Terzopoulos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cesario Roma saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, BFC 1982's Epifanio Barrionuevo got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Epifanio Barrionuevo kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. Daniel Castillo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cesario Roma having to interfere. Cesario Roma made an important save on a dangerous shot by Damian Maftei in the 66th minute. Nicasio Quinto kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. When the match clock showed 68 minutes, the score became 1-3 when Damian Maftei sped through BFC 1982's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Cesario Roma. Aguinaga Nebot showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edgardo Txaran in the 76th minute of the match. Honorato Acevedo made a great header on BFC 1982's corner, it was just that Esmeraldas S.C.'s Aguinaga Nebot managed to reach the ball for a save. Damian Maftei had several of the BFC 1982's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 79 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-4 score and a disappointed Cesario Roma as he didn't even see the shot coming. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Damian Maftei during the 81st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of BFC 1982 booed when Esmeraldas S.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Damian Maftei didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Damian Maftei had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Willy Reynolds's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 94thth minute, Cesario Roma skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Esmeraldas S.C.'s fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
