Mitchel Dijkstra showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Silverio Truylos, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. After some careless play in the Los Piratas FC defense, Leandro Soares kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Martin Abadia. The Los Piratas FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Martin Abadia should have stopped the shot. Fc Benefica's Mitchel Dijkstra proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 17th minute of the match, managed to save Fc Benefica from getting a goal against them. Humberto Jonge charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Humberto Jonge the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 20th minute the ball was on its way in behind Los Piratas FC's goalkeeper Martin Abadia, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Leandro Soares scored 0-2 in the 24th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Martin Abadia, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 28 minutes into the match, Candido Ospin notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Fc Benefica's Mitchel Dijkstra. Mitchel Dijkstra was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 31 minutes into the match, Fc Benefica's Leandro Soares sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Martin Abadia narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 32nd match minute, Los Piratas FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nicasio Pero to maneuver through the defense. Nicasio Pero kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Los Piratas FC's zone, Leandro Soares stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Martin Abadia came out of the goal and Leandro Soares tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The wind increased when Jorge Cervera made the kick off in the second half. Moises Luzea might have been able to make a better finish in the 51st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mitchel Dijkstra. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Moises Luzea ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 55th match minute, Fc Benefica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by David Wilmink to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Candido Ospin in the 56th minute of play forced Fc Benefica's goalkeeper Mitchel Dijkstra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Martin Abadia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leandro Soares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fc Benefica were awarded a corner in the 61th minute after Los Piratas FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Leandro Soares took the corner. After taking down the ball on Fc Benefica's corner Leandro Soares fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Martin Abadia quite easily take care of the ball. Martin Abadia made an important save on a dangerous shot by Leandro Soares in the 64th minute. 66 minutes had been played when some careless play by Los Piratas FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Leandro Soares was slow to take the kick. During this time Fc Benefica's players had a chance to rest. Fc Benefica's Leandro Soares was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Martin Abadia in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Jorge Cervera recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Leandro Soares who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 77thth minute tested the skills of Martin Abadia when he managed to save the team from getting behind. A collision led to Los Piratas FC getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Salvador Izel hit a great ball. Los Piratas FC's Martin Abadia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leandro Soares in the 84th minute of play. Salvador Izel hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. When Nicasio Pero fell near the penalty area in the 86th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Los Piratas FC's protests and gave Nicasio Pero a yellow card for diving instead. In the 87th match minute, Los Piratas FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nicasio Pero to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Leandro Soares during the 90th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Fc Benefica walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
