In the 19th minute, Lucrețiu Nicodim ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Andres Umea was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. In the 21st minute, Ryszard Borcz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 24 minutes, João Francisco Freire made it 2-1 with a short kick to the right side. DINAMO's Horea Hurmuzache tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Carmelo Aztore hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dumitru Opincaru stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to DINAMO getting a freekick after 50 minutes play. In the 58th minute, Dumitru Opincaru left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The DINAMO fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-2. After 63rd play minutes Ryszard Borcz shot 4-2, a short shot which went by Andres Umea and just under the crossbar into goal. When Melquiades Theobald fell near the penalty area in the 69th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored All Boys 22's protests and gave Melquiades Theobald a yellow card for diving instead.
