MONTANHA's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Grêmio RK75 the free kick. Martín Braithwaite's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sílvio Sarmento read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 34th minute of play. 37 minutes into the game, Grêmio RK75's Martín Braithwaite nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sílvio Sarmento made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Bebeto Paranaense showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tostão Munhoz in the 40th minute of the match. After having played for 41 minutes, Sidnei de Salles managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Grêmio RK75's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sidnei de Salles was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 43 played minutes Grêmio RK75 got a freekick which was hit by Benjamin de Barros. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The Grêmio RK75 supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Grêmio RK75 would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
