The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Valdomiro Oliveira hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. Sílvio Sarmento was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Aílton Neiva. A hard shot 11 in the game by Aílton Neiva from a close distance when the talented Sílvio Sarmento managed to make a qualified save. MONTANHA's players were relieved. In the 12th match minute, MONTANHA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tostão Munhoz to maneuver through the defense. After 15 played minutes MONTANHA got a freekick which was hit by Raimundo de Carvalho. After a defensive mix-up in MONTANHA's zone, Aílton Neiva stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sílvio Sarmento came out of the goal and Aílton Neiva tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Aílton Neiva took the ball and in the 18 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sílvio Sarmento. Sílvio Sarmento dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. When the match clock showed 21 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Tostão Munhoz sped through ROSÁRIO SPORT's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of João Carlos Oliveira. Valdemar de Amaral lost his temper 26 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 26th minute, one of MONTANHA:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for MONTANHA. Osmar Alves shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. After a rather tough play, MONTANHA's Valdomiro Oliveira got a free kick in the 34th minute. After 36 played minutes MONTANHA got a freekick which was hit by Tiaguinho Falcão. Ismael Seco charged in rather forcefully in the 39th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ismael Seco the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to ROSÁRIO SPORT getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Ismael Seco hit a great ball. When MONTANHA's Nilton Pinho in the 42nd minute got a chance for a shot 42nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye ROSÁRIO SPORT's goalie prevented a goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tostão Munhoz to strike the kick off in the second half. Wellington Gerber sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tostão Munhoz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Carlos Oliveira having to interfere. A collision led to ROSÁRIO SPORT getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Osmar Alves hit a great ball. In the 62nd minute, Tiaguinho Falcão fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lino Zonta in the 64th minute of play forced MONTANHA's goalkeeper Sílvio Sarmento to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 65 minutes into the match, Aílton Neiva notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of MONTANHA's Sílvio Sarmento. Sílvio Sarmento was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Sílvio Sarmento came out of the goal in the 68th minute to try and stop a shot by ROSÁRIO SPORT's Lino Zonta. But to his dismay, Lino Zonta quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. Tostão Munhoz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. João Carlos Oliveira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 72nd match minute, MONTANHA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nilton Pinho to maneuver through the defense. Nilton Pinho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 83rd minute Ismael Seco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sílvio Sarmento saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. João Carlos Oliveira made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tostão Munhoz in the 87th minute. When Lúcio Dionísio fell near the penalty area in the 89th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored ROSÁRIO SPORT's protests and gave Lúcio Dionísio a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to ROSÁRIO SPORT getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Lúcio Dionísio hit a great ball. Tostão Munhoz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. During the 94th minute of the match Lúcio Dionísio completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Lúcio Dionísio a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 95th minute, Lúcio Dionísio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. ROSÁRIO SPORT's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
