After 9 played minutes Haiti got a freekick which was hit by Jonathan Alphonse. 龚松川 received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Noel Seide tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If 龚松川 had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 龚松川 scored 4-0 in the 25th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Noel Seide, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to Botafogo getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Zézinho Marquez hit a great ball. If Zézinho Marquez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Noel Seide showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from 龚松川, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Roger Rossi scored 5-0 in the 37th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Noel Seide, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Haiti's Noel Seide proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save Haiti from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Haiti's zone, Roger Rossi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Noel Seide came out of the goal and Roger Rossi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Noel Seide made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from 龚松川 in the 44th minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 5-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Antônio de Almeida fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Noel Seide having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, 肖远平 managed to get in a good position for a shot. Botafogo's supporters rose to their feet, but 肖远平 was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Noel Seide breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Zézinho Marquez came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Botafogo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zézinho Marquez couldn't finish the play. Noel Seide showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from 龚松川 in the 61st minute of the match. 龚松川 fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Noel Seide having to interfere. Noel Seide didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Antônio de Almeida went, in the 85th minute, to the upper right corner, 10-0 was the resulting score. 龚松川 took the ball and in the 89 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Noel Seide. Noel Seide dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 11-0. 94 minutes into the match, Haiti's goal looked a bit too open when 龚松川 came free, but Noel Seide reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Antônio de Almeida might have been able to make a better finish in the 95th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Noel Seide. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Antônio de Almeida ran back to his position shaking his head. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Botafogo fully deserved thier win.
