Julian Murillo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Severo Montrelle read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 14th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Julian Murillo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Severo Montrelle was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. If Guto Rocha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 23 minutes into the match, Super Chechona FC's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Severo Montrelle reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Severo Montrelle took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Murillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Julian Murillo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Severo Montrelle was relentless in the 27th minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Julian Murillo in the 27th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Severo Montrelle saved Super Chechona FC from getting behind. A nice corner shot did that Luz Tejedor got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Severo Montrelle quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Luz Tejedor's long shot made the audience stand up and applaude when it rumbled by Severo Montrelle on his right side and into the goal. 29 minutes into the game it was 0-1. In the 32nd minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Severo Montrelle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 34th minute Federico Girotti shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Federico Girotti might have been able to make a better finish in the 35th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rolando Noboa. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Federico Girotti ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 42nd minute of the match Super Chechona FC got a corner. Peru's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Celedonio Iratze ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 46th minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Severo Montrelle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jura Zaklan kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Julian Murillo made a kick off. Severo Montrelle made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joaquin Prats in the 54th minute of play. Alexander Simbert got a throw-in 59 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Johan Vásquez. Julian Murillo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Severo Montrelle read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 72nd minute of play. 78 minutes in the game Alexander Simbert did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Jura Zaklan. In the 82nd minute Eliseo Mina shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Severo Montrelle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 82 minutes into the game, Eliseo Mina cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Severo Montrelle was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Peru made a substitution. Rafael Gallo replaced Julian Murillo. When the match had gone on for 87 minutes, Eliseo Mina took a quick shot and it went in 1-3 without a chance for Severo Montrelle to make any attempt to save it. After 91 played minutes Peru got a freekick which was hit by Antonio Tenorio. In the 94th minute Rafael Gallo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Severo Montrelle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Peru's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
