After a defensive mix-up in Åsnes's zone, Svend Havn stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Christer Waaler came out of the goal and Svend Havn tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Christian Kaspersen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 7 minutes into the game, Flogo FF's Christian Kaspersen nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Christer Waaler made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Christer Waaler showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Svend Havn, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. In the 16th match minute, Åsnes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Espen Bryhn to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Flogo FF booed when Åsnes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Petter Vartdal didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kent Sakshaug, 18 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. 22 minutes into the game, Jonathan Vie cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Jan-Aage Eklund was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 26 minutes into the match, Åsnes's goal looked a bit too open when Christian Kaspersen came free, but Christer Waaler reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 28 minutes into the match, Åsnes's goal looked a bit too open when Svend Havn came free, but Christer Waaler reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kent Sakshaug was slow to take the kick. During this time Flogo FF's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Christian Kaspersen almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Åsnes's Christer Waaler did a great save. Christer Waaler showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Svend Havn in the 38th minute of the match. In the 42nd minute Svend Havn shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christer Waaler saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.
In the 53rd minute of the match Flogo FF got a corner. Åsnes's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Kent Sakshaug ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Åsnes's goalie and right to Ørjan Moen. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Åsnes's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Flogo FF's Christian Kaspersen slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Christer Waaler. That made the score 1-2 after 55 minutes of play. After a rather tough play, Åsnes's Jonathan Vie got a free kick in the 64th minute. Marius Moldskred sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jan-Aage Eklund made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jonathan Vie in the 69th minute of play. In the 72nd minute, Jonathan Vie got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With an all-out effort, Flogo FF's Christer Waaler threw himself towards the right post 84 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Ørjan Moen, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 86 minutes into the game, Christian Butt was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Flogo FF's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Åsnes the free kick. When Åsnes's Jonathan Vie in the 88th minute got a chance for a shot 88th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Svend Havn could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Christer Waaler made a huge save. Flogo FF's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
