Juan-Carlos Gonzalo was a little too slow when José Ramos got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 11th minute. The score was now 3-0. Juan-Carlos Gonzalo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from José Ramos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Atlético Bucaramanga's Juan-Carlos Gonzalo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Atlético Bucaramanga from getting a goal against them. Lorenzo De Paredes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lugo Saavedra in the 19th minute of play. 20 minutes into the match, Atlético Bucaramanga's goal looked a bit too open when José Ramos came free, but Juan-Carlos Gonzalo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 23 minutes into the game, Calito Garcia recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Juan-Carlos Gonzalo. Calito Garcia showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 4-0. Beto Centella sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 37 minutes, Elixio Garros managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Atlético Bucaramanga's supporters crossed their fingers, but Elixio Garros was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. José Ramos scored 5-0 in the 44th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Juan-Carlos Gonzalo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 5-0.
