The Honduras fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lautaro Navarro should have stopped the shot. When Edmundo Espiga came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Honduras fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edmundo Espiga couldn't finish the play. Doriva Figueiredo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edmundo Espiga, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. After 70 minutes of play, Jucuitiba's Michel Agüero made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net.
