After 12 played minutes Falckner FC got a freekick which was hit by Elvio Abalos. Manfredo de Souza had great luck who in the 15thth minute grab hold of the ball when Jose Baldovino from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. Manfredo de Souza made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Gianluca Vialli sent off a good shot on target. Falckner FC's Gianluca Vialli was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 19th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. João Francisco Mazza kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. In the 23rd minute Arnulfo Evis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manfredo de Souza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gianluca Vialli took the ball and in the 24 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Manfredo de Souza. Manfredo de Souza dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. After some careless play in the Capibaribe Stars defense, Gianluca Vialli kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Manfredo de Souza. The Capibaribe Stars fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Manfredo de Souza should have stopped the shot. In the 37th minute, Danilo Teixeira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gianluca Vialli kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. In the 42nd minute of the match, Jose Baldovino tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Manfredo de Souza saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Falckner FC were awarded a corner in the 44th minute after Capibaribe Stars's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Arnulfo Evis took the corner. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Capibaribe Stars's Leonel Varela was substituted for Fabinho Vasconcelos. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gianluca Vialli stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Falckner FC booed when Capibaribe Stars was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Danilo Teixeira didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Gianluca Vialli's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Manfredo de Souza was relentless in the 53rd minute of the game. Gianluca Vialli recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 61 minutes of play, Falckner FC's Jose Baldovino made it 5-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Manfredo de Souza was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Jose Baldovino in the 64th minute of play forced Capibaribe Stars's goalkeeper Manfredo de Souza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Manfredo de Souza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gianluca Vialli in the 65th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gianluca Vialli in the 68th minute of play forced Capibaribe Stars's goalkeeper Manfredo de Souza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 70th match minute, Capibaribe Stars was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kalidou Van Dijck to maneuver through the defense. Manfredo de Souza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gianluca Vialli, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Raimundo Camargo hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gianluca Vialli in the 73rd minute of play forced Capibaribe Stars's goalkeeper Manfredo de Souza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 75 minutes into the match, Jose Baldovino notched a goal, 6-0, to the right of Capibaribe Stars's Manfredo de Souza. Manfredo de Souza was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Manfredo de Souza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jose Baldovino in the 79th minute of the match. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Capibaribe Stars's goalie and right to Andres Maiorga. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Capibaribe Stars's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. After 88 minutes of play, Falckner FC's Gianluca Vialli made it 7-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Manfredo de Souza was left in no man's land by his defense there! 91 minutes into the game, one of Capibaribe Stars:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty.

There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Falckner FC fully deserved thier win.
