The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, Villa Mitre City's goalkeeper Ariel Ponc had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lisandro Nuñez. Feliciano Fernendo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Dario Astigar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 7th minute, Lisandro Nuñez made a precise shot to the right of Ariel Ponc. Villa Mitre City's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Villa Mitre City's Ariel Ponc played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lisandro Nuñez in the 10th minute of play. After 12 minutes of play, SAN LORENZO FC's Lisandro Nuñez made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ariel Ponc was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Lisandro Nuñez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Chus Insausti fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dario Astigar having to interfere. 23 minutes into the match, SAN LORENZO FC's Lisandro Nuñez sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ariel Ponc narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 26 played minutes SAN LORENZO FC got a freekick which was hit by Wang Chao Yuan. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Feliciano Fernendo in the 28th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dario Astigar saved SAN LORENZO FC from getting behind. Lisandro Nuñez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Villa Mitre City's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Shao Zhen Xiao ran over to the corner to take the kick. Lisandro Nuñez could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Ariel Ponc made a huge save. SAN LORENZO FC's Dario Astigar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arsenio Maria in the 39th minute of play. 39 minutes into the game, Arsenio Maria cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Dario Astigar was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Arsenio Maria fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Villa Mitre City's protests and gave Arsenio Maria a yellow card for diving instead. In the 47th minute, Arsenio Maria hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Villa Mitre City made a substitution. Benigno Ibañez replaced Chus Insausti. Ariel Ponc showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rafael Tiniebra, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Villa Mitre City's Mauricio Macías slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Dario Astigar. That made the score 2-2 after 56 minutes of play. Feliciano Fernendo did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-3 to the left of a surprised Dario Astigar 60 minutes into the match. After having played for 63 minutes, Mauricio Macías managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Villa Mitre City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mauricio Macías was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Lisandro Nuñez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 68 minutes, Feliciano Fernendo made it 2-4 with a short kick to the right side. SAN LORENZO FC's Dario Astigar tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. SAN LORENZO FC's Ciriaco Cordarrell was substituted for Lisandro Nuñez. A throw-in in the 79th minute of the game was made by Léon Valin with Ciriaco Cordarrell as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. 81 minutes into the match, Villa Mitre City's goal looked a bit too open when Ciriaco Cordarrell came free, but Ariel Ponc reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ciriaco Cordarrell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Mauricio Macías received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Dario Astigar came out and tried to block the shot, but Mauricio Macías slotted it home off the left post making it 2-5 in the 86th minute. Villa Mitre City's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
