Velho Barreiro FC's Iker Hidalgo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save Velho Barreiro FC from getting a goal against them. In the 31st minute of the match, Paulo Renato Saraiva tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Iker Hidalgo saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Paulo Renato Saraiva succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 31st playminute. The crowd rose to their feet as Carlos Santana kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Iker Hidalgo. That made the score 2-0 in the 39 minute of play. Milcho Rakov made in the 41st minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Ferid Eker. In the 47th minute, Carlos Santana reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Iker Hidalgo. The goal made the score 3-0.

After a rather tough play, Velho Barreiro FC's Vânderson Carioca got a free kick in the 54th minute. When Cafu Ringaa came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Galo do Japi fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cafu Ringaa couldn't finish the play. In the 57th minute Carlos Santana shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iker Hidalgo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ronaldo Giovanelli made a fantastic save in the 59th minute, when Naldo Guerra sent off a good shot on target. Iker Hidalgo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlos Santana in the 62nd minute of the match. 63 minutes had been played when some careless play by Velho Barreiro FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Cafu Ringaa was slow to take the kick. During this time Galo do Japi's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Cafu Ringaa almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Velho Barreiro FC's Iker Hidalgo did a great save. 68 minutes into the match, Galo do Japi's Carlos Santana sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Iker Hidalgo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With a little luck, Galo do Japi's Ronaldo Giovanelli got control of the ball when Naldo Guerra tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to Velho Barreiro FC getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Panagiotis Stamatas hit a great ball. Velho Barreiro FC's Leonardo Gaúcho was substituted for Ferid Eker. Velho Barreiro FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Cafu Ringaa ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 83rd minute Naldo Guerra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ronaldo Giovanelli saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eriberto de Souza charged in rather forcefully in the 85th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Eriberto de Souza the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Velho Barreiro FC booed when Galo do Japi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eriberto de Souza didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ronaldo Giovanelli showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zico Galo, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. Leonardo Gaúcho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 90th minute of the match, but Ronaldo Giovanelli made a huge save. In the 91st minute, Zeca Caca-Rato hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Iker Hidalgo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Santana, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Carlos Santana in the 93rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Galo do Japi fans cheered their team off the field, for while Velho Barreiro FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
