Ronalds McDonald started the match with the kick off. Desportivo Coala's Marián De Bruyne got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Desportivo Coala booed when October 04 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stavros Bantis didn't get a good kick on the ball. Desportivo Coala's Astor Hug played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emilio Cascajares in the 17th minute of play. In the 20th minute, Aníbal Correia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 23rd play minute Emilio Cascajares came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Astor Hug. 1-0. Astor Hug made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emilio Cascajares in the 27th minute of play. 29 minutes into the match, Desportivo Coala's Ronalds McDonald sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Eskil Vester narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emilio Cascajares in the 38th minute of play forced Desportivo Coala's goalkeeper Astor Hug to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Desportivo Coala's Teofil Sidorowicz got a free kick in the 45th minute. When João Gonçalves came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the October 04 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that João Gonçalves couldn't finish the play. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Emilio Cascajares made a kick off. October 04's Eskil Vester played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Franklin Galvão in the 53rd minute of play. After a rather tough play, October 04's Stavros Bantis got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Luís Fabiano Gaspar charged in rather forcefully in the 55th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Luís Fabiano Gaspar the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to October 04 getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Luís Fabiano Gaspar hit a great ball. 59 minutes into the game, Ronalds McDonald recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Eskil Vester. Ronalds McDonald showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. Eskil Vester showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gilvan Azevedo in the 61st minute of the match. In the 62nd minute Desportivo Coala were awarded a corner. Ronalds McDonald went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 63rd minute Emilio Cascajares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Astor Hug saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of October 04 booed when Desportivo Coala was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rodrigo Alcântara didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 71 played minutes October 04 got a freekick which was hit by Luís Fabiano Gaspar. October 04 made a substitution. Luís Paulo Pernambucano replaced Luís Fabiano Gaspar. The throw-in from Pedro Luís da Rocha in the 80th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by October 04's Dariusz Rogoz. Astor Hug made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fellipe Valle in the 82nd minute of play. Luís Paulo Pernambucano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Astor Hug tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
