The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Leszek Wielopolski prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 24th minute, Ligitas Jutkus hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Leopoldo Villegas, 25 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. INTER Sosnowiec's Leszek Wielopolski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marco Cantona in the 28th minute of play. In the 37th minute, Marco Cantona made a precise shot to the right of Leszek Wielopolski. INTER Sosnowiec's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Leszek Wielopolski came out of the goal in the 40th minute to try and stop a shot by Vikingos FC's Marco Cantona. The supporters of Vikingos FC booed when INTER Sosnowiec was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Michael Klein didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marco Cantona blasted a shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Leszek Wielopolski having to make a save. Leszek Wielopolski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marco Cantona, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Leszek Wielopolski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marco Cantona in the 46th minute of play. After 46 played minutes INTER Sosnowiec got a freekick which was hit by Michael Klein. Marco Cantona fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leszek Wielopolski having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Marek Torm was the one to do the kick off. 56 minutes into the game, Marco Cantona cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Leszek Wielopolski was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to INTER Sosnowiec getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Rene Kreiser hit a great ball.
