In the 7th minute the ball was on its way in behind Galati Harbour Cats's goalkeeper Octavian Soare, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ivan Chiuzbaian showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Shi Li in the 10th minute of the match. Zhao Sen Yang took the ball and in the 14 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Octavian Soare. Octavian Soare dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Octavian Soare took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zhao Sen Yang, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Octavian Soare made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zhao Sen Yang in the 29th minute of play. The supporters of Galati Harbour Cats booed when Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stasio Bienienda didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 36th minute, Grigore Maghiran hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 37 minutes of play, Galati Harbour Cats's Ianis Man made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ivan Chiuzbaian was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Zhao Sen Yang had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. A collision led to Galati Harbour Cats getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Dan Petrescu hit a great ball. After some careless play in the Galati Harbour Cats defense, Zhao Sen Yang kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Octavian Soare. The Galati Harbour Cats fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Octavian Soare should have stopped the shot.

Zhao Sen Yangs short, quick shot in the 51stth minute got Octavian Soare to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Galati Harbour Cats's Octavian Soare played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zhao Sen Yang in the 52nd minute of play. Octavian Soare made a fantastic save in the 57th minute, when Zhao Sen Yang sent off a good shot on target. Ivan Chiuzbaian showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Shi Li in the 58th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Galati Harbour Cats's zone, İlhami Akyazıcı stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Octavian Soare came out of the goal and İlhami Akyazıcı tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s Ivan Chiuzbaian played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ianis Man in the 62nd minute of play. Octavian Soare stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Zhao Sen Yang's shot from short distance in the 64th minute. İlhami Akyazıcı fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Octavian Soare having to interfere. Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s Mugurel Pandele was substituted for İlhami Akyazıcı. In the 75th minute, Zhao Sen Yang reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Octavian Soare. The goal made the score 1-3. Galati Harbour Cats's Sebastian Covataru was substituted for Valeriu Zdrobiş. Octavian Soare was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Zhao Sen Yang showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-4 in the 81 minute of play. In the 88th minute, Zhao Sen Yang got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
