Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Cesar Gutierrez started the match with the kick off. In the 9th match minute, FC Ledungirra was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Seyfi Nuralp to maneuver through the defense. Agustín Saelices sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 11 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dida Freire made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. When Ecuador's Daniel Zorita in 14 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cesar Gutierrez in the 31st minute. Dida Freire showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dida Freire having to interfere. 39 minutes into the match, Cristian Sancho had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dida Freire. FC Ledungirra's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cristian Sancho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The wind increased when Daniel Zorita made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Xilo Valdovinos in the 53rd minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Xilo Valdovinos came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the FC Ledungirra fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Xilo Valdovinos couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dong Xing Zhen during the 62nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Ecuador booed when FC Ledungirra was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dong Xing Zhen didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a free kick in the 70th minute. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Xilo Valdovinos in the 71st minute of play. With his leg Dida Freire managed to avoid a goal in the 73rdth minute, when Ecuador's Daniel Zorita fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Daniel Zorita's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Dida Freire firmly grabbed it by the left post. Dida Freire took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 80th minute Luis Andino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dida Freire saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. Felix Montes made a great header on Ecuador's corner, it was just that FC Ledungirra's Dida Freire managed to reach the ball for a save.
