Spectators: 39 (Terracing: 30, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Francisco Seco got the match started through his kick off. Bruno Oxarra received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Joaquin Gayoso came out and tried to block the shot, but Bruno Oxarra slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 6th minute. Niki Lauda could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 8th minute of the match, but Joaquin Gayoso made a huge save. With his leg Joaquin Gayoso managed to avoid a goal in the 10thth minute, when RIVER's Wu Li Zhi fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 13 minutes into the match, RIVER's Niki Lauda sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Joaquin Gayoso narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Niki Lauda's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Joaquin Gayoso was relentless in the 17th minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Niki Lauda in the 19th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Joaquin Gayoso saved Uruguay from getting behind. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Niki Lauda in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Joaquin Gayoso prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Francisco Seco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcial Lordi having to interfere. Joaquin Gayoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Niki Lauda in the 30th minute of play. In the 34th minute, Uruguay's Jorge Sainz seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Jorge Sainz the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Uruguay protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Jorge Sainz had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. RIVER made a substitution. Domingo Remigio replaced Bruno Oxarra. Joaquin Gayoso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Niki Lauda, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. If Niki Lauda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Through an outstanding action, after 43 minutes, Joaquin Gayoso successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The crowd rose to their feet as Niki Lauda kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Joaquin Gayoso. That made the score 2-0 in the 44 minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Niki Lauda was the one to do the kick off. Maximiliano Escribano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcial Lordi having to interfere. Eric Târban's late challenge caught a Uruguay's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eric Târban helped the player get up and apologised. In the 55th minute, Eric Târban hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. RIVER made a substitution. Pipo Benedetto replaced Wu Li Zhi. In the 64th match minute, Uruguay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alberto Gisbert to maneuver through the defense. Niki Lauda might have been able to make a better finish in the 76th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Joaquin Gayoso. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Niki Lauda ran back to his position shaking his head. Joaquin Gayoso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Niki Lauda, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Joaquin Gayoso came out of the goal in the 80th minute to try and stop a shot by RIVER's Niki Lauda. But to his dismay, Niki Lauda quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-0. After having played for 87 minutes, Pipo Benedetto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. RIVER's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pipo Benedetto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Francisco Seco in the 91stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Marcial Lordi, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. If Pipo Benedetto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Uruguay's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because RIVER had won, even though Uruguay had held more of the ball.
