After some fancy dribbling in the 6th minute, Iruinea Llordes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fohat Neyen's supporters rose to their feet, but Iruinea Llordes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kevin Mier breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 8 minutes into the match, Fohat Neyen's goal looked a bit too open when Rian Giggs came free, but Iraido Bertiz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 8th minute, Rian Giggs left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sabaneta FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. After a rather tough play, Fohat Neyen's Iruinea Llordes got a free kick in the 10th minute. Rian Giggs who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 12thth minute tested the skills of Iraido Bertiz when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After 19 played minutes Sabaneta FC got a freekick which was hit by Bonifaco Corrillos. Kevin Mier showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Iruinea Llordes, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Kevin Mier took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Denis Schnell, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bengt-Rune Widberg in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kevin Mier saved Sabaneta FC from getting behind. Iraido Bertiz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stanislaw Cempa in the 25th minute of play. Kevin Mier showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bengt-Rune Widberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Rian Giggs recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 29 minutes into the match, Sabaneta FC's goal looked a bit too open when Bengt-Rune Widberg came free, but Kevin Mier reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cássio Correia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iraido Bertiz having to interfere. After 37 minutes, Rian Giggs mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sabaneta FC and the Fohat Neyen players grew even worse after the yellow card. Kevin Mier showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Denis Schnell in the 38th minute of the match. Iruinea Llordes might have been able to make a better finish in the 41st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Kevin Mier. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Iruinea Llordes ran back to his position shaking his head. With an all-out effort, Sabaneta FC's Iraido Bertiz threw himself towards the right post 43 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Rian Giggs, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. A hard shot 45 in the game by Rian Giggs from a close distance when the talented Iraido Bertiz managed to make a qualified save. Fohat Neyen's players were relieved. 46 minutes into the match, Sabaneta FC's goal looked a bit too open when Clemente Tome came free, but Kevin Mier reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rian Giggs made a kick off. The corner led Sabaneta FC's Fabian Lawrence to fire away a dangerous shot which Iraido Bertiz despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 67th match minute, Sabaneta FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by David Fuentes to maneuver through the defense. 70 minutes into the match, Sabaneta FC's goalkeeper Kevin Mier had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bengt-Rune Widberg. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rian Giggs in the 72nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Iraido Bertiz saved Fohat Neyen from getting behind. Fohat Neyen's Iraido Bertiz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rian Giggs in the 96th minute of play. Neither Sabaneta FC or Fohat Neyen succeeded in finding a winner during the second half. That meant the players faced another 30 minutes of extra-time.

The players didn't get much rest, but they still tried to pep each other up as they lined up for the first half in overtime. Fohat Neyen's Bengt-Rune Widberg started the play with his kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Iruinea Llordes in the 102nd minute of play forced Sabaneta FC's goalkeeper Kevin Mier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 108th minute Iruinea Llordes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kevin Mier saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 112th minute Denis Schnell shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kevin Mier saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The first half of extra-time was a real thriller. Both teams had created chances, but they were still tied when the whistle blew. Iraido Bertiz came out of the goal and Petri Romuroso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, Sabaneta FC's Kevin Mier got control of the ball when Bengt-Rune Widberg tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 133rd minute, Fohat Neyen's Bengt-Rune Widberg ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Kevin Mier. Kevin Mier yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2.
