Spectators: 8213 (Terracing: 6162, Seating: 1888, VIP seats: 163) ADM Taquaras's Michel Drogba started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Florian Guderian made a fantastic save in the 8th minute, when Michel Drogba sent off a good shot on target. ADM Taquaras's Décio Marinho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bartolomeo Heinlein in the 9th minute of play. Michel Drogba could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 14th minute of the match, but Florian Guderian made a huge save. Décio Marinho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thorben Rittmann in the 20th minute of play. Florian Guderian showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Michel Shevchenko, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. In the 24th minute of the match ADM Taquaras got a corner. Sydney FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Michel Drogba ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on ADM Taquaras's corner Michel Drogba fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Florian Guderian quite easily take care of the ball. In the 26th minute, Michel Drogba made a precise shot to the right of Florian Guderian. Sydney FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Through an outstanding action, after 31 minutes, Florian Guderian successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Kees Plappert sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Décio Marinho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kees Plappert, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thorben Rittmann hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Michel Drogba could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but Florian Guderian made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Michel Drogba got free with Florian Guderian in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

After a rather tough play, Sydney FC's Adnan Tilner got a free kick in the 52nd minute. After 60th play minutes Michel Drogba shot 2-0, a short shot which went by Florian Guderian and just under the crossbar into goal. Bartolomeo Heinlein hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Rui Cabral received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Florian Guderian tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 68 minutes, Nat Schmitt mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sydney FC and the ADM Taquaras players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 68th match minute, Sydney FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nat Schmitt to maneuver through the defense. After 75 played minutes ADM Taquaras got a freekick which was hit by Wilson Duarte. Benê Carioca might have been able to make a better finish in the 78th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Florian Guderian. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Benê Carioca ran back to his position shaking his head. When the match had gone on for 86 minutes, Michel Drogba put it in 4-0 from a short distance just to the right of Florian Guderian. 89 minutes into the match, Michel Shevchenko notched a goal, 5-0, to the right of Sydney FC's Florian Guderian. Florian Guderian was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 92nd minute Michel Drogba shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Florian Guderian saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 94 played minutes Sydney FC got a freekick which was hit by Bartolomeo Heinlein. After having played for 95 minutes, Dito Donato managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ADM Taquaras's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dito Donato was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

For all the effort they put into the match, the Sydney FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for ADM Taquaras.
