After a rather tough play, STAL ST WOLA's Stefan Spychalski got a free kick in the 5th minute. 8 minutes into the match, STAL ST WOLA's goalkeeper Roland Burdzel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Morten Hestad. Michal Pazdan lost his temper 13 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 13th minute of the game. One of STAL ST WOLA:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Åsnes:s goal. When the match had been going on for 16 minutes, Åsnes's Kristian Sandersen got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Roland Burdzel. Kristian Sandersen succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 3-0 in the 22nd playminute. In the 25th minute, Boguslaw Nowak hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Morten Hestad could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but Roland Burdzel made a huge save. Dan Ødegaard hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Christer Waaler took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wladyslaw Motowski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jon Hesjedal charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jon Hesjedal the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Jon Hesjedal hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Dan Ødegaard kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Roland Burdzel made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kristian Sandersen in the 40th minute. Roland Burdzel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rune Gjessing in the 42nd minute of the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Morten Hestad made the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the STAL ST WOLA defense, Rune Gjessing kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Roland Burdzel. The STAL ST WOLA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Roland Burdzel should have stopped the shot. In the 58th minute, Rune Gjessing hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Åsnes's Christer Waaler proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 64th minute of the match, managed to save Åsnes from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in STAL ST WOLA's zone, Morten Hestad stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Roland Burdzel came out of the goal and Morten Hestad tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Boguslaw Nowak hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. In the 79th minute Morten Hestad shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roland Burdzel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Morten Hestad in the 85th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Roland Burdzel saved STAL ST WOLA from getting behind. Roland Burdzel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jon Hesjedal in the 87th minute of the match. Ryszard Waldoch kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Åsnes fans cheered their team off the field, for while STAL ST WOLA had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
