Marcinho Fonseca took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Lombillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 10 minutes into the match, Mamutes EC's goal looked a bit too open when Gonzalo Barja came free, but Marcinho Fonseca reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 13 minutes into the game, Roneros F.C.'s Gonzalo Barja nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Marcinho Fonseca made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Asensio Berzosa came out of the goal in the 19th minute to try and stop a shot by Mamutes EC's Giovanni Porto. But to his dismay, Giovanni Porto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gonzalo Barja in the 22nd minute of play forced Mamutes EC's goalkeeper Marcinho Fonseca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 25th match minute, Roneros F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Yépez Pedron to maneuver through the defense. 29 minutes into the match, Roneros F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when David Lima came free, but Asensio Berzosa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Lombillo in the 34th minute of play forced Mamutes EC's goalkeeper Marcinho Fonseca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Asensio Berzosa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Almir Damião in the 35th minute. In the 39th minute, Mamutes EC's Felippe Zanette seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Felippe Zanette the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Mamutes EC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Felippe Zanette had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The supporters of Roneros F.C. booed when Mamutes EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felippe Zanette didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 40th minute Héctor Gainzarain shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcinho Fonseca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 43rd match minute, Mamutes EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alexsandro da Silveira to maneuver through the defense. Marcinho Fonseca showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Héctor Gainzarain in the 44th minute of the match. 48 minutes into the match, Roneros F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Almir Damião came free, but Asensio Berzosa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alberto Lombillo made a kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Mamutes EC's goal looked a bit too open when Hernando Vilaprenyo came free, but Marcinho Fonseca reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 53 minutes into the match, Mamutes EC's goalkeeper Marcinho Fonseca had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gonzalo Barja. Marcinho Fonseca made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gonzalo Barja in the 55th minute. Marcinho Fonseca made a fantastic save in the 56th minute, when Hernando Vilaprenyo sent off a good shot on target. In the 58th minute, Alberto Lombillo made a precise shot to the right of Marcinho Fonseca. Mamutes EC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. The supporters of Roneros F.C. booed when Mamutes EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Almir Damião didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Roneros F.C.'s Figueroa Aviñante got a free kick in the 67th minute. Roneros F.C.'s Walter Luzuriaga was substituted for Alberto Lombillo. Figueroa Aviñante kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Asensio Berzosa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Almir Damião went, in the 73rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. 76 minutes into the match, Mamutes EC's goal looked a bit too open when Walter Luzuriaga came free, but Marcinho Fonseca reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gonzalo Barja struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Marcinho Fonseca didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Roneros F.C.. Marcinho Fonseca was out of position in the 80 minute of play, and Walter Luzuriaga capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Walter Luzuriaga really showed his touch with that goal: 2-3. A collision led to Mamutes EC getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. David Lima hit a great ball. Roneros F.C.'s René Emperanza shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 83rd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Marcinho Fonseca but with some difficulty. If Mauricio Ureta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 86 minutes, Walter Luzuriaga took a quick shot and it went in 2-4 without a chance for Marcinho Fonseca to make any attempt to save it. Roneros F.C.'s Rodriguez Iribarria managed to work through Mamutes EC's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Rodriguez Iribarria dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. In the 94th minute, Hernando Vilaprenyo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marcinho Fonseca was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-5.

Roneros F.C. played a much better game than Mamutes EC and deserved their victory. The Mamutes EC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
