Spectators: 42 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Roman Gdaniec got the match started through his kick off. In the 5th minute, Roman Gdaniec left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Girona FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Lastur Murcia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felix Montenegro, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Luis Andino managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Luis Andino was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lastur Murcia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 21st minute, Roman Gdaniec made a precise shot to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Girona FC's Roman Gdaniec got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 27 played minutes Girona FC got a freekick which was hit by Iván Salgado. In the 28th minute the ball was on its way in behind Girona FC's goalkeeper Lastur Murcia, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Cristian Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Lastur Murcia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felix Montenegro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Berkay Yetiş tried to sneak it across the goal line. 38 minutes into the match, Girona FC's Roman Gdaniec sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 40thth minute of the game Roman Gdaniec who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some careless play in the Girona FC defense, Agustín Saelices kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lastur Murcia. The Girona FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lastur Murcia should have stopped the shot. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Daniel Zorita made the kick off in the second half. Luis Andino recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Daniel Zorita blasted a shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lastur Murcia having to make a save. After 65 minutes, Antonio Arias mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ecuador and the Girona FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 66th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antonio Arias to maneuver through the defense. Girona FC's Alfonso De Pedro was substituted for Berkay Yetiş. The supporters of Girona FC booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antonio Arias didn't get a good kick on the ball. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from David Palau, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by David Palau in the 70th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 72 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Agustín Saelices. In the 74th minute, David Palau made a precise shot to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. 77 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when David Palau came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 78 minutes into the match, Girona FC's goalkeeper Lastur Murcia had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. After a rather tough play, Girona FC's Ovidio Maldonado got a free kick in the 81st minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Lastur Murcia in the 83rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 84th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on Ecuador's corner Luis Andino fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Lastur Murcia quite easily take care of the ball. Lastur Murcia made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Sancho in the 86th minute. Girona FC's Kepa Molina was substituted for Joaquim Lustosa. In the 94th minute the ball was on its way in behind Girona FC's goalkeeper Lastur Murcia, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 95th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Girona FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Daniel Zorita almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Girona FC's Lastur Murcia did a great save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alfonso De Pedro in the 97th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Many of Ecuador's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Ecuador may have spent more time on the ball, but Girona FC were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
