Lucas Rallo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arthur Clarke in the 28th minute of play. Froilan Reyes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Niculae Ailenei made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Claudiu Răducanu in the 35th minute of play forced Spain's goalkeeper Lucas Rallo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Romania booed when Spain was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Clément Lenglet didn't get a good kick on the ball. Niculae Ailenei showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Francesc Tamari, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Niculae Ailenei showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Francesc Tamari in the 44th minute of the match.

Romania's Niculae Ailenei played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Coronel Castro in the 92nd minute of play. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
