After a rather tough play, EL COCO's Arnaldo Isauro got a free kick in the 5th minute. After having played for 7 minutes, Rune Aspengren managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vänge IF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rune Aspengren was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. EL COCO's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Claudinho Lima 9 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. Venancio Bernat kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. Lorien Vilela made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mariano Tino in the 15th minute of play. In the 15th minute, Mariano Tino ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lorien Vilela was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. With an all-out effort, Vänge IF's Emiliano Gabino threw himself towards the right post 18 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Malcolm Skark, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. A hard shot 22 in the game by Claudinho Lima from a close distance when the talented Emiliano Gabino managed to make a qualified save. EL COCO's players were relieved. Lorien Vilela made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mariano Tino in the 29th minute of play. Claudinho Lima in the 30thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Emiliano Gabino, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Alberto Oliveiro charged in rather forcefully in the 32nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alberto Oliveiro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 32nd match minute, EL COCO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alberto Oliveiro to maneuver through the defense. When Alberto Oliveiro was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 39 minutes had been played. The ball had pretty good speed, but Emiliano Gabino firmly grabbed it by the left post. After a defensive mix-up in EL COCO's zone, Claudinho Lima stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Emiliano Gabino came out of the goal and Claudinho Lima tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Arnaldo Isauro to make the kick off. The EL COCO fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Emiliano Gabino should have stopped the shot. Markus Albäck's late challenge caught a EL COCO's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Markus Albäck helped the player get up and apologised. EL COCO's Emiliano Gabino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Markus Albäck in the 70th minute of play.
