Through an outstanding action, after 3 minutes, Pelayo Vazquez successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The audience was convinced that Benito Naldo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pelayo Vazquez was relentless in the 5th minute of the game. After 10 played minutes Los Colegas del Barrio got a freekick which was hit by Nahia Sierra. In the 12th minute, Benito Naldo reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Pelayo Vazquez. The goal made the score 1-0. Benito Naldos short, quick shot in the 16thth minute got Pelayo Vazquez to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Frodo Quintero's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Severiano Rafe read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. In the 20th minute Los Colegas del Barrio were awarded a corner. Emilio Nunez went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on Los Colegas del Barrio's corner Emilio Nunez fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Severiano Rafe quite easily take care of the ball. After 21 played minutes Emilio Nunez shot from long distance. At first the shot seemed to be simple for Madison's Severiano Rafe to catch but Emilio Nunez was lucky. It became 1-1 after the goalkeeper had been careless and dropped the ball into goal. After having played for 24 minutes, Benito Naldo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Madison's supporters crossed their fingers, but Benito Naldo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Pelayo Vazquez stood somewhat misplaced when Benito Naldo came free in front of goal and shot 2-1 to the left of him in the 27 minute. 33 minutes into the game, Madison's Benito Naldo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Pelayo Vazquez made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. Benito Naldo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 36th minute of the match, but Pelayo Vazquez made a huge save. Benito Naldo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 48th minute, Los Colegas del Barrio's Olaf Iniesta seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Olaf Iniesta the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Los Colegas del Barrio protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Olaf Iniesta had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The supporters of Madison booed when Los Colegas del Barrio was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 49 match minutes in a wonderful position. Olaf Iniesta didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 49th minute Faustino Avellaneda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pelayo Vazquez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Albi Solo made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benito Naldo in the 54th minute of play forced Los Colegas del Barrio's goalkeeper Pelayo Vazquez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pelayo Vazquez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Benito Naldo, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. The supporters of Madison booed when Los Colegas del Barrio was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eutropio Harroyo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Benito Naldo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pelayo Vazquez read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. After 62 played minutes Los Colegas del Barrio got a freekick which was hit by Ximun De la Rosa. Ximun De la Rosa hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Faustino Avellaneda came free in the 65th minute and tried to tip the ball over Pelayo Vazquez, but to the joy of Los Colegas del Barrio's supporters the ball hit the crossbar and out. In the 67th minute of the match Faustino Avellaneda shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Pelayo Vazquez showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Pelayo Vazquez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benito Naldo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 71stth minute of the game Benito Naldo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Los Colegas del Barrio's Pelayo Vazquez was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some careless play in the Los Colegas del Barrio defense, Benito Naldo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pelayo Vazquez. The Los Colegas del Barrio fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pelayo Vazquez should have stopped the shot. Los Colegas del Barrio's Pelayo Vazquez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benito Naldo in the 78th minute of play. In the 83rd minute Aristides Lorencio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pelayo Vazquez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 83 played minutes Madison got a freekick which was hit by Hernan Uzuri. After some careless play in the Los Colegas del Barrio defense, Benito Naldo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pelayo Vazquez. The Los Colegas del Barrio fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pelayo Vazquez should have stopped the shot. If Benito Naldo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 94th minute, Benito Naldo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Pelayo Vazquez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benito Naldo in the 95th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Benito Naldo in the 97th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pelayo Vazquez prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Madison fans cheered their team off the field, for while Los Colegas del Barrio had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
