The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kaká Botelho helped the player get up and apologised. Vitório Massa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kaká Botelho in the 20th minute of play. In the 45th minute, Itapema's Ricardo da Fonseca seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Ricardo da Fonseca the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Itapema protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Ricardo da Fonseca had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. A collision led to Itapema getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Ricardo da Fonseca hit a great ball. Kaká Botelho took the ball and in the 48 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Vitório Massa. Vitório Massa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-5. After the first half Pura Arte F.C were leading 1-5. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Falcão Mendonça made the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute, Dito Trigo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 56 played minutes Itapema got a freekick which was hit by Ruperto Viviano. The crowd rose to their feet as Pura Arte F.C's Falcão Mendonça slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Vitório Massa. That made the score 1-6 after 57 minutes of play. Itapema's attentive Dito Trigo managed to snatch the ball when Pedro Paulo Montenegro made a throw-in in the 60th minute of the game. Rodrigo Vidal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dito Trigo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Falcão Mendonça in the 82nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Vitório Massa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Frédson Paulista charged in rather forcefully in the 84th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Frédson Paulista the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dito Trigo in the 87th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rodrigo Vidal saved Pura Arte F.C from getting behind.
