Without hesitation aimed to the right of Emerson Paraíba, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Eriberto Leão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hamilton Luis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Emerson Paraíba showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dorian do Nascimento in the 17th minute of the match. In the 19th minute Hamilton Luis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eriberto Leão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Emerson Paraíba made a fantastic save in the 21st minute, when Zé Joinvilense sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Joinville Esporte Clube booed when Jumeuc Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hamilton Luis didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 25th minute, Deivid Vaz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Jumeuc Futebol Clube's Samuel Melo got a free kick in the 27th minute. Dorian do Nascimento fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emerson Paraíba having to interfere. If Zé Joinvilense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. A collision led to Joinville Esporte Clube getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Deivid Vaz hit a great ball. When Adelino Saldanha came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Jumeuc Futebol Clube fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Adelino Saldanha couldn't finish the play. Eriberto Leão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Falcão Soeiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jumeuc Futebol Clube's Emerson Paraíba played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dorian do Nascimento in the 46th minute of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Zé Joinvilense to make the kick off. When Benê de Azevedo fell near the penalty area in the 55th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Joinville Esporte Clube's protests and gave Benê de Azevedo a yellow card for diving instead. 59 minutes into the game, Hamilton Luis recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Eriberto Leão. Hamilton Luis showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adelino Saldanha in the 62nd minute of play forced Joinville Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Eriberto Leão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 63 minutes Joinville Esporte Clube's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Samuel Melo who took care of the corner kick. Eriberto Leão made an important save on a dangerous shot by Francisco da Cunha in the 66th minute. Francisco da Cunha hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. A collision led to Joinville Esporte Clube getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Célio Mangueira hit a great ball. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Jumeuc Futebol Clube had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
