The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Diguinho Gaúcho in the 10th minute a chance for a shot on goal. In the 14th minute, Coritiba Foot Ball Club's Thiago Machado dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. Coritiba Foot Ball Club's Carlos Eduardo Dracena quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Cléber da Costa, made in the 18th minute of the game. Thiago Machado scored 2-1 in the 24th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Christiano Arce, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Christiano Arce took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Thiago Machado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 27 minutes into the match, Thiago Machado notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of SORRISO E. C.'s Christiano Arce. Christiano Arce was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a rather tough play, Coritiba Foot Ball Club's Carlos Eduardo Dracena got a free kick in the 63rd minute. If Diguinho Gaúcho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Amadeu de Mendonça hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. Diguinho Gaúcho had several of the Coritiba Foot Ball Club's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 73 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 3-2 score and a disappointed Alvaro Rudolfo as he didn't even see the shot coming. SORRISO E. C.'s Christiano Arce played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Thiago Machado in the 77th minute of play. 78 minutes into the match, Coritiba Foot Ball Club's goal looked a bit too open when Diguinho Gaúcho came free, but Alvaro Rudolfo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee showed Toninho Gomes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Toninho Gomes hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. Coritiba Foot Ball Club were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of SORRISO E. C. for a fine match.
